History & Evolution
The Nepal Premier League (NPL) is Nepal's premier franchise T20 cricket competition, organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and launched in December 2024 with eight province-based franchises. All matches are played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, where the league has drawn packed, passionate crowds. Janakpur Bolts won the inaugural 2024 title, beating Sudurpaschim Royals by five wickets in the final, and Lumbini Lions claimed the 2025 crown by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals — runners-up for a second straight year — by six wickets.
